Two AF Vets, generations apart, find common ground...P-47

Wed Feb 01, 2023 1:12 pm

Here is a story I received today via Hagerty classic car insurance's website.

A WWII/Korean vet restored a '30s Chrysler and puts a '50s Hemi in it. Not so unusual today, but he did this in the early '60s.
And unlike the typical hot rod builds of the period, this entailed a complete restoration of a complex car (in other words, not a stripped T-Bucket).

Nice photos of his F-51 in Korea, and shots of the completed car alongside a razorback Thunderbolt in the 60s/70s.

It was eventually re-restored by a younger AF vet who got into car restoration following combat wounds.

Great story.

Can anyone ID the razorback?
Can't be too difficult given their rarity.
