As far as I know there is no formal fly-in at Rockcliffe on July 1. There is of course the Canada Aviation Museum open house with free admission. I would assume they will be pulling some of their airframes outside for display as usual, but I have no confirmation of that. I have also heard there is a possibility the hangers doors on the storage hanger will be opened for the public see what is inside, but there would be no access into the hanger.
As for flying activities, I know that at least Mr. Potter and his crew will be involved in Flypasts. July 1st is also a "first Saturday", so the gates will be open at Vintage Wings at the Gatineau airport for people to take advantage of the picnic area adjacent to the ramp to watch the flying activities, in this case in support of the fly-bys at the CAvM. More details to follow next week. I will be busy at Gatineau myself helping to ensure the public side of the event goes smoothly while giving the crews a chance to do their thing.
Now fast forward to August... there is a classic airplane fly-in planned for August 26 & 27. For a link to the site go to...
