B-25 Champaign Gal stuck in Indiana with engine issue

From the Champaign Aviation Museum:
Recently, our B-25 Champaign Gal was found to have metal shavings in its right engine oil system. This occurred suddenly and the aircraft is stuck, sitting on an airport ramp in Madison, Indiana, away from home. The fix requires the right engine to be removed and replaced with a good engine. The market to purchase an overhauled engine for a B-25 is a very small one, and is expensive. With inflation, the cost is a lot higher than just a couple years ago. This is a huge expense for a museum like ours. Everyone here on the forum cherishes keeping WWII airplanes like the B-25 flying. We have a B-25 engine fund to bring Champaign Gal home on our website.

I don't mind donating, but in a situation like this they should throw us a little bit of a bone. If you donate a $100 they'll give you a used up spark plug or something like that. I don't need another t-shirt.

Might be exposing my ignorance here, but:

Looks like the aircraft is ~150 miles from home base. How bad are the "metal shavings?" Any chance of limping it the short distance home?

While I'm far from an expert, one normally doesn't check oil screens except during scheduled inspections or if there is a problem noted in flight. With significant amounts of metal in the oil it is anyone's guess if the engine is 5 minutes or 5 hours away from seizing. Also, if the engine is further damaged the core may be ruined and the existing engine may then not be suitable for overhaul.
