I am not a spokesperson for the museum, but I think they have some higher priority projects ahead of this one. Museum expansion for one, and the B-17 for another. Of course if a donor were to come along with the means...

Well, at least it's protected and on display. Maybe someday...........

That is one hell of a display!

IMHO, it is almost more interesting in its present state than as a complete, but static, aircraft; however, if the choice was between seeing it in the air or in a 1:1 scale diorama as it is now, well....
But it makes me think that a similar presentation of the LBG, restored to its "as found & untouched" state, would be an amazing and moving display, not to mention that a featureless desert sand base couldn't be much simpler or cheaper to create.
cheers

I agree with the LBG idea, however getting the plane is a huge hurdle........

I have to see that display at the Planes of Fame Museum when I get out that way. They've done a nice job with the diorama.

POF display is pretty cool, even has spiderwebs
I'd love to see it restored but I'm very happy that you can view it and its not hidden in some back lot storage shed waiting love. After all a broken betty is better than no betty.

Didn't Dave Tallichet have some Betty hulks in his yard at Chino at one time? If so, where did they end up?
