B-17 in Emergency Evacuation role

Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:46 am

Wondering if anybody has a copy of the January 1944 issue of Air Force and if it contains a story that might shed some light on this NARA photo of a B-17E adapted for emergency evacuation. The B-17 has ASV antennas and I believe the photo was taken in the South Pacific theater in 1943, but some more details about when and where would be a great help.

That's a great resource!

It has the "Flight" magazine archive.
