I know one of Kermit's former Mechanics and IIRC Kermit had made noises about restoring his mosquito (The one in the Eagle Hangar)
and flying it. He doubted that would happen. I think dry rot was mentioned. I know anything is possible but hopefully that mosquito stays right where it is.

You will find, that I'm extraordinarily generous, when it comes to spending the money of others!

FYI, the Lewis/Somers Mosquito isn't coming to Oshkosh this year.

Additionally, don't get your hopes up about Kermit's Mosquito flying any time soon. I had a chance to talk to Kermit directly about it in the past and he told me that he had no plans to fly it anytime soon. The biggest problem is that he doesn't know the condition of the wood under the skins. To replace the wood might be very intrusive and could require significant portions being replaced, thus ruining/degrading the originality. He is very proud of the fact that he has a completely original Mosquito that could potentially fly, and he wants to keep it that way. I got the definite impression that he would rather obtain a new build Mossie from AvSpecs before he would ever let his original one fly again.

We are planning on arriving in the B-29 between 1900 and 2000 on Sunday evening, then parking on the Plaza.

We will be open for tours in Monday…stop by and say hello to an ol’ WIXer.

A while ago I thought I saw a Spitfire being towed out to the fighter paddock on the live cam, but couldn't be sure. By the time the cam panned back, it was in the paddock but only a bit of the wing is visible. From that, it has too much white on it to be Potter's. Is Timmerman bringing Frasca's old Mk.XVIII back this year? I've thought this was possible, especially after the museum in Windsor announced that the Timmerman Spitfire and Mustang are having a stopover there a week from Monday. But, the Spit is supposed to be at Willow Run this weekend, so ... ?

The “Warbird” webcam would be great if it would turn 360 degrees.

I agree. This year, however, the warbird cam has an operator part of the time ... the camera followed the B-52 arrival in, and then a later, Fifi too. The vintage camera stayed on a couple of mass arrivals that I happened to catch as well.

Very nicely done, EAA, it gets a little better every year!

Outstanding!!! I, like many others, have been waiting for this news for a LONG time!!!

I heard Evan was flying the P-47 multiple times a week trying to get 30 hours in it so he could bring it to Oshkosh. Is this a requirement only if you're flying that aircraft in the show? I don't see them putting 30 hours on the Diver and then bringing it. If that's the case, can they attend and not fly?

I'm not aware of what's required per test hours, for plane or pilot, to simply leave the home airport airspace, or airshow flying, etc. I've heard all sorts of numbers. The C-53 'The Yacht Club', N43XX, just came out of what I believe was a three-year restoration, and it seems they only had it flying for an hour or so before setting across the country yesterday morning, arriving at Oshkosh this morning - it spent the night in Mankato after making an emergency landing there yesterday with a precautionary shut down/feathering of the left engine, but they got things sorted.
