I just posted an update on the restoration progress of B-17G 44-85790 at Salem, Oregon. The B-17 Alliance Foundation volunteers are making slow but steady progress on returning this B-17 to the air.
They are aggressively fundraising right now because they have the opportunity to buy the hangar where the museum and restoration hangar are located, thus securing its home for the project. If one is apt to contribute money toward this project, this would be a good time. Details on the posting...

Thanks for the update! I really appreciate it when you post here on WIX that you've done an update. I always go to read them, and it's often one of the highlights of my day.
Keep up the good work! I know that it takes effort and costs time and money.

Good to see some good news on the otherwise depressing B-17 news front...
Sad how we went from an abundance of flyers to a couple...albeit with several in long term maintenance.
Others seemingly parked.
Any updates on the other long term rebuilds/projects?

While buying a hangar to house the project instead of renting one is a great idea (they're about half way to the $800k price).. it looks like the hangar in question is only 80ft wide?. So they wouldn't be able to house the aircraft in the hangar they own unless they remove the outer wing panels?

I have been hearing that the Movie Memphis Belle should be flying in 2025. Other than that, the other rebuilds are several years away.

The Liberty Belle rebuild is still active. I don't use Instagram and there may be some photos found on there.

Not that it will by flying anytime soon, but the local news, WGN covered Desert Rat this week:
