Re: Aircraft 3-Views Project

A bit of anecdotal evidence about manual illustrations... in some specific Bell helicopter handbooks the CG diagrams showed generic Bell 47 shapes, despite the fact that the subject of the manual had significant visual differences (even in silhouette) such as longer tail boom and larger fuel tanks.

Examples can be seen in The Bell 47 Helicopter Story – Birth of the Commercial and Military Helicopter Industry, by Robert S. Petite and Jeffrey C. Evans.

Coincidentally, just after my last post, I ran into an excellent example of these type of errors. The profile and overhead views on the 3-view for the A24R show a different length for the fillet on the vertical stabilizer. (Compare with the A23A example, which shows the same length for both views.)

Ironically, the H-13 is one of the best covered aircraft I have when it comes to 3-views, with detailed examples existing for the YR-13, H-13B, H-13C, H-13G and HTL-4.
