Photo 3 shows an impressed airline DC-3...note the right side door.
Reminds me of the early war chapters of Gann's Fate is the Hunter which are centered at Presque Isle, Maine in the early days of the ATC.

In the photo that has the PBY, it looks like a Spitfire on the other side of it.

Its probably Spitfire R7143. A PRMkVII that was based at Rockliffe, but flown throughout Canada during the war. You can just make out the underwing pods in that picture of it behind the Canso. It was eventually scrapped in 1949-1950.

I presume that all of those a/c were to be repainted and sent on to the USSR?
I don't think I've ever read any accounts of the Russian using B-26s. I wonder how they liked them.

My assumption would be that they were enroute to the Aleutians. I also have never read of the Soviets using B-26s.
