A couple of questions:

- Was this a "custom" or "modified" cockpit arrangement or something Lockheed did as an option.

- And is this P-38 still around?

It's N517PA/44-27183; post-war mod as already stated.

EDIT: According to Geoff Goodall's site, fitted with a T-33 nose.
