I wonder what piston engined aircraft carried 580 gallons of fuel?
Are there any overhaul tags or markings on the gauges that indicate U.S. Navy, USAF, or Air Corps?

This looks like an engineers panel from a large transport. Looking at the fuel tank gauges, I am inclined to think it is from a KC-97. The fuel capacity of a KC-97G, minus the two external 700Gallon tanks was 7113Gallons, which is only 11 gallons more than the combined capacity listed on those tanks. Also, the oil cooler door and cowl flap gauges are updated versions of those used on the B-29 and B-50. I haven't seen them on any other aircraft types. Pretty sure it's KC-97.

All gauges are marked AF-44 on the contract prefix, and no other tags or information that I have found, except for hand-written notations on the gauge cases which I have to look at again.
