This was taken after they put the four bladed props on. This was in Harlingen, TX

You just set the politically correct air force back 20 years with that picture with the rebel flag on the tail. How unsensitive you are to the feeling of the millions of people who flock to give money to an orginization if it is politically correct. At least now the Midlanders will have time to catch up on their accounting and count all those millions of politically correct dollars.

Great stuff. I only went to one Harlingen show, back in 86. I saw the last flight of the PBY from the Pacific Wing and I also got to see one pre show takeoff of Carolyn. For some reason, at the time I thought I had better watch the take off as I will never see the airplane fly again. I don't often get thoughts like that but it turned out to be true. The airplane was still having problems from the nose gear incident depicted here and didn't fly in the Airsho that year.

We were finished for the day there in Harlingen, and were headingout to the car. We stopped and turned around to see what was coming in for a landing and it was the 26. Everything looked to be ok and one of the two large hangars there got in the way of our view. Next thing we heard was a horrible noise....but no B-26 came out the other side. So we ran back up around the hangar and there she was sitting nose down.

Well actually, Elroy, the takeoff I saw was at Harlingen 86 on Thursday or Fri. They were still shaking the bugs out from the nose gear incident pictured here that you mentioned. The nose gear incident was in 1985. The airplane still had some problems related to the repairs so it didn't fly the rest of Airsho 86.
