Wondering what the status is on the Corsair now owned by Olympic Flight Museum?
I remember it well Flown by CDN Warplane Heritage in Hamilton Ontario

Does Olympic still have it in the same paint scheme (Royal Navy 115)?

That Plane while with CWH originally was "147" at some point was changed and remained "115"

Does anyone know the history behind that?

Todd

Pretty sure it isn't wearing any paint now... it is under restoration at Airpower Unlimited in Jerome, Idaho:

Click on ">>Gallery" in the title and you'll see some clickable thumbnails of the project. I am not sure how recent the photos are however.

However, with the kind of amazing work that is coming out of the Airpower Unlimited hangar, I have no doubt that the finished product will be nothing short of spectacular.

It is under restoration with Airpower Unlimited at Jerome ID. They are even taking out the air-stair door that was installed by Kal-Aero. See:

http://www.airpowerunlimited.com/curren ... rsair2.asp

I assume it will be painted in a U.S. scheme when done.

As for the change of 147 to 115. When the CWH first purchased CWX researched indicated that Hammy Grey flew 147. After some discussions with the FAA Museum and additional research it was determined that it was 115, so the numbers were redone.

Update: Air stair door and upper windows removed and re-skined along with reinstalling bulkheads, radio floor, etc. The fresh overhauled R-2800 is to arrive today from "Anderson Airmotive". Wings are ready for re-assembly and fabric (previously metalized). Center section and spar yet to be disammebled and repaired. Many sub-component completed on shelf. Thank You for your interest! Sorry, haven't figured out how to attach photos, yet. Regards,

John,

If you have photos you wish to post (we will post them as updates to the aircraft at the registry as well), please feel free to email them to us and we will make sure they get up. That goes for any of your projects... we are glad to help!
