I think the photo is tricking some of you. The'it' looks cluved but is partially hidden in the concave belly of the A-6 ie part of the left left engine nacelle is hiding 'it'. Looking at the pave of the linkthe front end doesn't look anywhere like this. I can tell you having been a A-6 squadron ordy that we never had those things and my step-dad said he never saw one either.

Hmmm. Got me fooled, cuz the two look exactly the same to me, right down to the three vertical lines painted around the body and the horizontal line that bisects all three.

I've also been around A-6's...the keel isn't curved that much under there...if the head on that "what ever" is symetrical...then a serious mod must have been done to the keel area so the bloody thing would fit....I SERIOUSLY doubt a fleet squadron like the Sunday Punchers would do such a thing to their aircraft. A mod like this would be more likely in a VX outfit.

So if it's not a pave knife or pave spike....what is it?

I'm trying my best to screw with you guys and you're ruining it for me.

Just remember those great words spoken by Charlie Sheen in 'Hot Shots'
"pineapple-pickle-blowfish I'm coming in!"

Just to keep it interesting, here's a shot of a real nuke that I dropped off a F-15E up at Tonopah in 2001.
