Some Library research assistance requested

Fri Jul 21, 2006 8:59 pm

All -

As there are certainly a lot of research-hounds here on the WIX, I was hoping I might be able to get some help tracking down copies of a few newspaper articles for my Cavalier Mustangs book.

None of the libraries I have been to have archives of these papers, so although I know the names of the articles and the specific locations I'm completely unable to obtain the articles themselves.

If any of you have access to public or private libraries from which I might be able to obtain copies of these articles I would be quite grateful.

I am looking for:

The Washington Post, Times Herald; Nov 17, 1968; pg. K1
NACLA Report on the Americas, Volume 1, Number 8, October 1967
Miami Herald, 25 May 1971 (Section B, Indian River News)

If you might be able to help, please drop me a PM or email. Thank you!

Randy,
I am a library administrator by trade and we receive newspaper article requests like this by e-mail on a regular basis. Our reference staff then go the newspaper on microfilm, scan the article as a .pdf file and e-mail it to the customer. This is becoming a fairly standard library service. I suggest you email your request to the Miami-Dade County Library at the link below to request a copy of the Miami Herald article. The Washington D.C. Public Library staff should be able to do the same thing for you from the Washington Post.

If this link doesn't work or you need further assistance, contact me at my work e-mail: dbergstrom@spokanelibrary.org

NACLA (North American Council on Latin America) should have their offices somewhere in Washington DC area; Georgetown if I remember correctly.

NACLA is a liberal -to say the least- political group, think-tank and research institution.

Hope this info helps you a little.

Saludos,

Tulio
