I would suggest the meeting location for the group photo on Saturday should be the annoucer stand. Perhaps we could meet there at 4:30 since I think they boot us out at 5 PM.

As for after hours activities, we can decide something on after the group photo on Saturday.

I am not sure how we would join up on the Friday, perhaps a meeting time of 7 PM in the lobby of the Holiday Inn? Too early? Too late? Once we hook up there we can decide on a restaurant. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Are we going to get a updated aircraft list? Just wondering what Spits are coming or not coming?

Thanks DaveC

I figure that Scott and I will arrive at the Holiday Inn Exp between 5-6pm Friday. We've decided to take a small side trip to Air Heritage to see the progress on the A-20H there.

Tim

And on a side note
The Fence check crew will be taking over the Applebee's near the Hotel. I'm not sure if we want to help the invasion or annoy the locals at another location, I know several of us here post on both boards so It could be interesting mix.

In case Mudge and other WIX nuts don't know who Catherine and I look like, here are some pics of us...

To summarize the plan for TOM WIX meetings...

Friday the WIX meeting place will be the lobby of the Holiday Inn at 7 PM. We will get as many people together there as possible then, then go for dinner?

Catherine and I will be in the photo pit on Saturday. As previously mentioned we will try for a group shot on Saturday, with the rally point being the announcer's stand (look for Todd Hackbarth there as well) at 4:30 PM. Dinner out someplace to follow sometime after the group shot. The back to the lobby of the Holiday Inn to swap tales and lies.

As for Sunday, Catherine and I don't have photo pit passes, so we will be looking for a piece of shade. Possibly under the wing of the B-52.

Holiday Inn at 7 on Fri. and announcer's stand at 4:30 on Sat. sound OK here. We're staying at the Super 8 in Belleville. I guess we'll find out if that was a mistake or not when we get there.

The Super 8's not bad (at least it doesn't seem that way from the outside). You're real close to the highway, and should have pretty easy access to the field.

You'll be near mostly fast food joints, but Dmitri's kitchen is right across the road and that's decent greasy spoon. There are a couple of "TGI Ruby FuddApplebee's"-type places just up the road.

I say the WIX photo should be at the end for the day, Right when everyone tries to run out the gate at once. That way nothing of the show is missed. We can pick an aircraft that day.

I sure I'm not the only one here that stays until I get kicked off the flight line so I figure it will be good timing.

Tim

I'll second that.

We should also try to arrange a group dinner both nights. Why not? Most of us are there anyway!

Mike

That sounds good to me also. I've done group pictures in front of Mustangs before, and lost most of the P-51 to the people in front of it. As the theme is Skyraiders and spitfires, a Skyraider might work better?

Eric Downing is supposed to be there, maybe we should take the group pic in front of his Skyraider?

I will be arriving at the Holiday Inn during the early evening. Due to unforseen events this summer, my original plan to come solo has been changed to the beginning of a family vacation. Since my daughters (9 & 13) aren't interested in aviation, we will probably forgo the official WIX dinners, but I'll try to stop by the lobby and say hello.

My wife and I will be at the Holiday Inn Exp Thursday night. I will try and drop by Willow Thursday to see what has arrived but I think we will be having some weather on Thursday so I don't expect to many arrivals until Friday. We will check the lobby during the evening for Wix arrivals.

Cheers,

Eric & Berni

So, do we get to meet the (or one of the) newest members of the Wives of Wix at the show?

Congrats also!

We could also meet at the Tracker. We are the only Tracker going to be on the field plus we will have the wings folded so it will be easy to locate. We should be arriving over head at about 11 tomorrow. I do not know what hotel we are in, all I know is it is the one with all the rest of the aircrew. I will plan on being at the stand on Saturday. See ya'll soon!

Let's see Fence Check wants a group photo at the ME-109 at 4:30, WIX wants one at the announcers stand same time?? Both groups should get together.

Well we are gathering at the announcers stand at 4:30 and the plan right now is to move over to the Tracker for the group shot. We should see if we could get a combined-forums picture at the 109 first. We'll have to see how things go tommorrow.
