Hi, guys! It was nice meeting many of you at TOM. I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Here's a couple of my own pix, although most of mine pale in comparison to what I've already seen here. Looks like I'll have to get a pit pass next time!

I really appreciate you having this site for all of us to converge at. It makes my job easier to be able to go here and get all the latest info on everything that is going on. I will get you the aerial shots as soon as I figure out how to download the images from my camera(mainly trying to compress them from 700kb to under 100). I will also get those other pics of the tracker for you probably next week.
It was a great show for us. Kevin, Mike and everybody up there at the Yankee musuem are some of the best people to work with and in my opinion put on a great show with the variety of aircraft flying and there was always something going on. Who says you can't put on an awesome airshow with no major aerobatic acts? My only grief is that there weren't more round engines flying.

Craig it was great meeting you and sorry we could not hook up over Michigan, maybe next time.
Great video Dave. The last time I saw you was Friday at Windsor but I see you made it to the show and got some great images.

At one point it was, I'm not sure when that dropped off the radar. But 3 Hurricanes was a great site. Thanks to Mr. Potter and Crew fopr sending down the Mk IV. That was a great surprise!

Any idea what happened to the Skyraider lineup..
And I agree with the vendor displays taking up too much space on the front line...I know they pay the bills and they have to made $$ but putting them just to the right of the VIP tents made it a challenge for those photographing who did not have the pass...

I agee. I was chased away from the rope by the booth nazis more than once.
The photo pit seems to be a recent development. I spoke (well, listened politely) to an irate gentlemen who had apparently been bounced from the photo pit. According to him, that area had been open to the public until recently. (Of course, he failed to explain why the bright yellow ropes did not discourage him from parking his chair there, anyway, but he didn't appear to be in the frame of mind to argue with, so I didn't mention it
I've only seen this one show, but I am under the impression that it is rapidly growing. That can be both a good and a bad thing. That is, good for the museum, but bad for the average show experience.
I would've been happier if they had not chosen a tent design inspired by Cherokee Indians. I don't know how many pictures I lost because the plane swooped behind the teepee just as it was entering the sweet spot of the viewfinder LOL.

The photo pit was in an area that was previously open to everyone. Initially, I thought the photo pit was going to be in a new area with an even better vantage point, but it turns out it was just part of the old show area..but just restricted to those who purchased the photo tour and photo pits passes (you had to buy both). As such, I heard a lot of grumbling from people who found themselves not able to watch the show from an area they were used to watching the show from.
Having said that, and having bought the photo pit pass for both days, I'm glad I did. It was a relatively large area that was not oversold, so everyone got a good vatage point and there wasn't much elbowing to get good photos at all. The free water was also a GREAT perk too. From what I can tell, everyone who purchased the photo pit passes were really happy with the setup.
I hope they continue to offer photo pit passes. My guess is they will sell more quickly next year.
I also hope the symposium returns next year. It was greatly missed this year. Hearing from the men who flew the planes puts a great perspective on the whole weekend. It's not just about the machines, but it's also about the men who flew them. As such, it's great to see both the machines and the men. One possible idea for next year: a veteran's tent. This could be a great place to meet the men and hear their stories.
All in all, a great weekend. Now I just have 1400+ digital images to sort through...

Hopefully Mr. Luther and Mr. Walsh are following this thread and can make adjustments to the layout of the Vender and Sponsor's for next year. Personally I think you could put the vendors anywere and they will make $$ ( gotta eat and drink ) as for the sponsors they probally would like to be right out front ( in the way ) since they are kicking in $$ to the show.
The Lanc pilot I was talking with said they were not flighing in the show Sunday?? I would figure with quite a few acts dropping out that the $$ would have been their to put it in the air for at least one day?
