I like the part about Netwerk getting upset when he left his tickets in the trunk when he knew he was going to an event. Very entertaining

Welcome to WIX. The best way I can say for you to make some changes that you feel are important is to volunteer with YAF next year and help them become an even greater show. I came in last minute Sunday with an airplane and was not on the list of attending aircraft. Airshows are somewhat controlled chaos behind the scenes. As a participant, this show presented some of the best opportunities to view and photograph warbirds that I have ever seen.
You've got a year to plan the time to make available for next year and help these great people put on this event. Will you help out?
I plan on attending. Who knows, if a reunion of F86's is in order, we may bring ours out.

I love the part where they had signs indicating that people would need them before they arrived at the security check/gate

I also want to thank Steve Hinton for bringing 23 Skidoo for us all to see and appreciate.
Steve was kind enough to sign my sons logbook and pose for a picture with him.

I thought about volunteering this year, but after the lack of info the provided for the majority of spectators, I don't know that I'd want to be a part of it, to be honest. I'm sure that sounds snooty or what not, but it's not intended that way. Volunteering wouldnt really help. I'd probably end up parking cars. They needed someone who could edit the website (where I believe most people got info on the show/planes attending) that also had an ear to the ground for cancellations.
I'd love to see an F-86 reunion. I dont know that T.O.M. would host it because of the semantics over what people think is/isnt a "Warbird" I'm a fan of all eras/types of planes, F-86's being one of my favourites, so I'm certainly biased.
It amazes me how judgmental and rude people can be on this site to a guy who simply posted his experience with the show.. your civility is greatly appreciated!

Everyone on WIX knows I’m not like this but HELLO!!!!!!! BE PREPARED
Just like don’t get to an airshow at 11am and expect shade or a front row seat. People in those spots arrived well before the gates even opened and have put in the time to deserve the best spot.

There's been plenty of times I might have posted something a little terse, but I refrained and chose a different method to communicate my feelings. The Warbird community is way to small and close to say the wrong things. I think you would have more impact than you think if you volunteer. Even if you did park cars, look at how you could help considering your experience. One of the benefits to you by volunteering would be to see some of the airplanes closer than you have previously. We'd be glad to show you our airplanes inside and out. That's what it's all about. Think about it, every person counts when it comes to putting on an event like this.
As for the F86 and other jets, We realize that they may not draw the attention that a WWII aircraft draws, but they need to be saved and restored for future generations as well to honor the vets of that war or conflict. E-mail me or PM me and I'll share the info on the Foundations airplanes in detail with you.
We're the caretakers of this equipment for the next 20 years or so and want to share it.
Negatives aside your input is important to the events we all like to attend.

I guess that I see nothing wrong with being terse. I almost prefer it. Waxing and footsying around something doesnt appeal to me much. Perhaps others have a problem with straightforwardness.
I understand now how small this "community" is, if you say one thing that someone was even remotely involved with, you've apparently damned him and all of his cronies, now they'll come badger you.
I guess I dont see/believe/agree that I could be of any significant help. I dont have all the answers/solutions for the questions/problems I posed/saw, but I dont pretend to. I do have ideas, sure, which is why I wrote up my experience, but apparently it's not welcome.
If I ever see/hear you'll be at a show that I'm attending/working, I will be sure to come and say hello. I tried to look up the F-86 that you're a part of, but had no real luck. Is there a wesbsite or something? If not, I'll shoot you an email...

True enough the owners of these fine Warbirds and the people that keep them flying do deserve a very big thank you from all of us spectators. With the Russell group and Vintage Wings building up very large private collections Ontario is becoming a Warbird hot spot for sure, and with CWH, CHAA, Tiger boys and Great War Museum it just gets better every year.
Hats off to them all.

We do have a Korea theme show on tap with F-86s as the theme aircraft. We welcome all warbirds old and new to our show.

We would wecome you to attend one of our show meetings to get your views of the good and bad, and as you said, you don't clam to have all the answers, maybe we can.
To answer some of your concerns,
The lancaster was not on the show list to fly. On Sunday they did 2 passes while on the way home. (to have the lanc fly in the show would have cost us $10,000 alittle more then we wanted to spend, but it would have been cool)
The web site was updated often, The stuff that is still on it that did not attend, was Friday August 4th no shows. When stuff was taken off the web site, we just deleated it, and added the new stuff, it might have been hard to notice, as the list of long.
We will take your review to heart, as we don't see everything during the show, and we want to make our show the best it can be.
We know we will never be able to make our show perfect, but we can try.

Our pleasure to bring the Buckeye out. We had a good time and the airplanes that we saw were incredible. I'll be back and we'll put it in our plans to make the show next year with the F86 if able. Maybe we can bring more than one for the day this time.
