B-29 Nose at Beale AFB

Fri Aug 18, 2006 10:40 am

Is this B-29 nose section still attached to a building at Beale AFB in Calif. Apparently it was part of a museum there which now has closed??

If I'm not mistaken (and I could be) this nose section was restored as the "Big Time Operator", put on display at Beale then aquired by the Museum of Flight as a spares sourse (when the Beale musem closed) to support the restoration of their B-29. I think later it ended up gutted outside behind the New England Air Museum in Conn. There was a reference to it on this board a few months ago.....
