A couple of pics for the Registry (B-29 & KC-97)

Wed Aug 25, 2004 5:00 pm

Hey All,
I snapped a couple of pics at Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, MO last month, but I havent gotten around to hosting them. Now I have, and I thought I'd share.

The B-29 is SB-29 44-61671, painted to represent 44-27353 "The Great Artiste"

Sorry I couldn't get any better pics of the KC-97, but security is kinda tight.

If anyone wants higher resolution pics, just e-mail me at djc0f9@mizzou.edu

Great photos of the Great Artiste! I dont think I have seen photos of this plane before. I'm sure Scott will want to use them in the registry.

Thanks, I'll make sure to add them to the registry when I get back.

I added them to the registry tonight, they will be online later tonight

Great pictures! I visited Pease in 1978 and saw the B-29 in the hanger when they were refurbishing it.

I didn't see the KC-97 in the registry, but the site below lists it as 53-327.

My dad flew that SB-29 when he was with the Air Rescue Service back in the 50s...

Super Dumbo!
