Major Aviation announcement:

The 2005 Cincinatti Airshow held at Lunken Airport will host a Major Aviation Event Sept. 9-10-11, 2005

This will be the Main Event for the Cincy Airshow " Can You Hear The Thunder" Republic P-47 Thunderbolt Re-Union. This will be the Largest Reunion of the Mighty Jug Fighter Known as the P-47 Thunderbolt, we are expecting 7 flyable P-47's. The Airshow will have a Dinner and Symposium on friday along with Pilots from WWII that flew this great fighter. There will be an Airshow on saturday and sunday with alot of WWII Warbirds , Modern Military Displays, Static, and Flying, and Aerobatic Acts. There will be a special aviation print that will be made available to the public for sale. This print will be a collectors item, that you will be able to have autographed by the P-47 Pilots and Ace's attending the show. I didn't know there were 7 flyable P-47's in the US. Does anybody have a list of the flyable P-47's?

Yes, the Kalamazoo P-47 has not flown for 3+ years.

I thought the "N" was back in the shop after a mishap a few years ago, or am I thinking of a different a/c (I think it is at Cavaugh's Museum in TX)

Yes... the CAF 47 is sponsored by Cavanaugh and is under rebuild. Last I heard it was coming along nicely. CAF had a spare wing so the airframe is going back together up at the Sherman, TX - Grayson County airport.

It isn't airworthy. It is still under restoration.

I hope Mint and the guys can pull this off. It will be really tough to get seven Thunderbolts together, it will be really cool if they can.

Would it be great if Yanks Air Museum made a "special' trip with their P-47M.

The "N" model on the flyers list is the one built up by "Tiger" Destefani for David Price (Museum of Flying) and is configured as a D model. I think it has an N model fuse and so is registered as such even though it does not represent an N model to the eye.
