It was probably 42-92847/N88874, which has been a regular visitor to the Minnesota Wing's show in Red Wing and the New Richmond show. To the best of my knowledge, this C-47 was indeed used on D-Day

I will scan the article tonight when I get home from work. Where is the bird at now? I wanted to say the mentioned that the airplane in the photo was in Fargo ND?

Paul, I am sure it is the AC-47 that's in the picture. Our AC-47 is painted in the Flat colors used by the military. It's a B*&ch to keep clean but is correct and since we have restored as John Levitow's Medal of Honor aircraft it had to be correct.

there is another Spooky gunship based in Wisconsin that did serve in Normandy. It is owned by Darrell Massman. I believe it is N88874

When I was taking the family down to Oshkosh for Airventure we drove past the tiny airport in Waupaca on HWY 10 and saw "Spooky" sitting out on the tarmac. Is this the one you're refferring to???
