I winder whether a magnetic anomaly aerial survey over Walnut Ridge would turn anything up? If something is buried there, surely there would be enough metal left to show up?

Anyone know a MAD equipped a/c that could divert on the way home? :D

..and that is a"checkable" rumour if one is adept with the technology we
have at our fingertips. A satellite thermal image of that area of Walnut Ridge
should help in a confirmation of those trenches. I forget where in the Middle East
where such technology relocated the old Spice Road..I think it was Saudi
Arabia...there are other instances in archeology where such techniques
were handy. I wish I knew a 12yr old Nerd with the interest to persue it...

Or Andy, as I mentioned previously, thermal imaging or other technologies
that may have already been applied to the area by the USGS or some similar
entity.

The city I couldn't remember last night was Ubar in Saudi Arabi, rediscovered
with radar imaging. The key would be to see if USGS or JPL or?, ever mapped
Walnut Ridge from space or high altitude mapping platforms.

Sorry 'nutz, was doing a lot of reading of the thread and forgot what you mentioned!

I've seen radar imaging done of the ancient city of Troy in Turkey. You can walk around the excavated ruins but looking at the aerial image you can see that the city is at least another 10 times bigger and waiting to be uncovered!

Look out Walnut Ridge!
