For you uneducated & unworthy ones.
If scored on the asvab they made you an AO.
If you couldn't even sign your name right on the form,
well green shirt-brown shirt-yellow shirt. You get the idea.

I remember my last cruise in 91 we pull into Subic Bay for a couple days.
The ship and sqd. AOs had a party at a place (dump) in Olongapo
called Top Gun. The place was on fire within a couple of hours and
burn to the ground.

All our AO's throw their backs out before their first enlistment was up, thus leading to the next generation doing the same. But with all that said they were the most fun to party with in port because you never knew where the night would end.

I remember far too many morning in Fallon, far from sober, out on the line making sure the aircraft were ready to go. There I tried to stand, watching the AO's I'd been drinking with just a couple hours early wondering why I was not worried they were loading Mk-82s Mk-83s, Mk-84 or other live ordinance on the aircraft in the same state I was.

Some days I kind of miss it. Most I can't say I do.

Hernia bars....they call 'em that for a reason!

Our AO's are spoiled...they have those crank up loaders. No more hernia bars.

I won't go into the use of Forklifts to install wing pylons.... :shock:

I thought they gave red jerseys to the Ordies because "red" has only three letters.....any more and they got confused? :lol:

Green, Yellow, Brown....'em 'er BIG words!

Say it ain't so! No Hernia bars? Even I had the misfortune to use those a time or two. Even help load a bunch of other stuff here and there. But if I never drop another fuel tank that will be too soon, I think they were the worst!

I can't see anything good coming for that! Are things getting that soft in the Nav?

When I was in VA-128 we did lots of dets to El Centro. I remember after we loaded the sqd's A-6s with wall to wall MK-82s they brought out a fire truck and hosed us down. I loved being an AO & A-6s except in El Centro.
Our division officer said we were hernia bar heros. I just thought he was a extremely large penis.

No, nothing good came of it. The AO2 that "supervised" got busted, the pylon went to DRMO and Airframes stayed late to fix the jet :roll:

never made a det to El Centro...been to Fallon plenty though!

Never park your jets behind any Air Force jets......unless you want their tool boxes to come crashing across your line when they taxi out :shock:

we kept what we picked up :lol:

Hmmm,
I almost did that the other day. We were able to get to the override button before the foam came on.
