I had thought about this when the Hawkins & powers KC-97's were up for auction. How neat it would be to take a good set of wings and put them on the B-50 fuselage at chino. I think a worthy project.
POF already has the remains of a KC-97 for this purpose. The problem is that the center section spar was cut to make a walkway through the fuselage when it was a USAF display so there is no strength there if you were to bolt the wings on.

I got to meet Mr Weeks in Denton, TX. He was flying his B-26 to florida and stopped for the night. The Marauder Men of the Metroplex sponsored the stop. It was great to see these guys yucking it up around "their" airplane.

It's just great to see that the Marauder still flies from time to time.

mjanovec,

Unless I am mistaken (once again) that B26 picture with Kermit is from Kermit's original flight from Aero Trader in Chino, CA to Kermit's Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, FL in late March/Early April 1998.

Someone working at FOF would be able to tell us if that a/c is flown on any regular basis. It is my understanding that it is not flown regularly (or at all?) since it returned from its trip up to Oshkosh, WI ('98?).

John, you are not mistaken... as stated, that was taken at Denton, TX on a stop over on the "ferry" flight to Florida. There was frost on the airplane the morning of March 12, 1998
