As a follow on to the Best Warbird Part Thread, I started to wonder what some of you have done with the parts you have collected?

If you use any, how do you use them?

Actual uses or displays, not just sitting in a box or shed. Even if you have plans for them, tell us what you plan to do with them. I myself have several planned, with many parts in hand, but havn't had the time to execute the projects!

Let's see who is the most creative out there!
Photos would be cool too!
Blue skies,
Jerry

My dream is to get a "non airworthy ", yes read that NON-AIRWORTHY cylinder from a big round engine and turn it into my Beer Tap Tower for the Pub Room I have planned. I think that would look great sitting on the top of the bar with 4 taps coming out.

That is my dream, thought I'd share that even though it hasn't happened yet and I don't have any of the part (including the Faucets and Shanks for the taps)

My tail hook will hang above the bar, in a last tribute to the "End" of the Navy.

Tim

If you want an R-1820 jug, it's all yours real cheap....but you pay the freight charges from Minnesota!

I was short some furniture in my first apartment, so I had some C-45 PAX seats instead.

There’s probably half a dozen or so pistons that have been modified as ashtrays around here (well, make that paperweights now).

I have an old 24" Bendix wheel with a cracked spoke serving as a door stop and a homemade air compressor that my dad made years ago that has a B-17's belly turret's oxygen bottle for a tank. It leads a pretty sedate lifestyle nowadays but still fills up the odd soft tire here and there.

I bought a B-17G co-pilot's sliding window for my father (a 50-combat mission veteran of the 301st BG, July '43-March '44) for Father's Day 5 years ago. Used it as a picture frame for a collage of 301st BG B-17 photos. A little heavy for wall haning but we made it work. He loved it.
