Computer Monitor Question

OK so I updated my Norton anti-virus and my computer took a big dump.
Called the repair gurus I use and they laughed when I told them (seems like the new Norton sucks and Norton won't even help ya out). They had to dump my XP and reload it so I lost everything.
Now for my issue..Photos and such stuff are a bit fuzzy/blurry on my monitor. Why is this and what do I do about it??

Try updating the drivers for your monitor & video card. I assume you have already hardbooted the computer, if not try that first.

Bummer Jack, I too went through an upgrade with Norton about a month ago, and had nothing but problems. After contacting and receiving no help from Norton, I dumped their virus program (even though I renewed it just three months ago) and switched over completely to ZoneAlarm Pro.

Are you using an actual Monitor (CRT) or an LCD monitor? With an LCD, if you're not running at the recommended refresh rate, resolution, and color depth, the picture quality will take a hit.

I'm sorry but was that English?? To me computer are sorta like voodoo!
Try updating the drivers for your monitor & video card. I assume you have already hardbooted the computer, if not try that first.

Helping me with computer issues is like like trying to swim up river. Lots of effort but not much to show for it.

Are you using a 50 lb hernia inducing monitor, or a nice, thin, easy on the back flat panel? If a flat panel isn't set "just so" the image gets very fuzzy / distorted.
To find your current settings, right click on the desktop (with no windows open) and click "properties." In the window that pops up, click the "settings" tab, and pay special attention to the "screen resolution" and "color quality" settings. Try setting "color quality" to "highest." You may want to move the "screen resolution" up to 800x600 or 1024x768. Some displays only look right at certain resolutions.
(don't worry if you move the settings too high and the screen goes blank / screwy. It'll come back after 15 seconds.)
This screen will also tell you what drivers the system is using to run the monitor and video card. If you see words like "generic" or "standard adapter", you may need to update a driver or two.

This makes sense and I did this with no luck. I made the screne small but still blurry. I do know that I don;t have a video card installed and just has it was when I bought it. I've been told there's no room and it would get to hot and fry. My feeble non-computerized brain refuses to understand why all was fine before and not now.

ok, still blurry. But we're making minor progress....Could you post the model & manufacturer of your PC and Monitor? That'd help.
On the front of the monitor you should have a series of buttons / controls / doohickeys. One of them may bring up an on sceren menu that lets you adjust the horizontal and verticle locations of the picture on the screen, the brightness, etc. Look for something in that menu that says "Degauss." when you do this, your monitor will appear to have a seizure, but will come back to normal shortly thereafter. I've seen this clear a blurry screen. You may not have that option, so don't fret if you can't find it.
(I wish I could explain what degaussing does, but my community college education didn't exactly get deep into electromagnetic theory)
Another track to follow; Do you have anything other than the computer plugged into the same outlet / power strip? "dirty" power can do strange things to a monitor.
Other than that.....ummmmm....are you sure you're using the correct pair of glasses

But no luck at resolving this. I did the degassing, checked resolutions, color ect.
I'm considering dancing around it with chicken feet (I did grow up in the south after all).
But here's another clue. Everything ON my computer is crystal clear.
Only when viewing pictures online do they appear blurry. I can look
at a perfect photo then load on wix and it looks blurry to me????
Stupid computer. Ya can't live with'em or without'em (sound familar?).
