With Brad and Bills posts showing Spitfire and Breckenridge photos I decided to scan some of the highlights from Breckenridge Airshows. I started with 1990. I made it to the 1987-1994 shows. Will work on scanning more soon.

That B25 is LSFM's Special Delivery, which is still a regular flyer. You can get more info about her at LSFM.org. At the time the Tiger Cat was also part of the LSFM fleet ( which was still in its very early days as a Musuem)

I have some pics squirreled away of her in flight and if you are interested let me know and I will try to post some.

Yep, I know its lone stars........would love to see the pics..........She was restored to airworthy by a fellow vermonter. Loved seeing her in the skies up here in the early 80's. Had a chance to go for a ride when I was 10 but turned it town to go to the show in our N3N......stupid stupid stupid!!!

Looks like the wing of Lone Stars Hellcat in the shot with the tail of Special Delivery.

Just ahead that could have been their P-40.

The Tigercat is probably being flown by Jim Fausz. Along with being the early Lone Star Director he seemed to be primary pilot on the F-7F.

Heard that she sat in Hobby for a few yrs and went to a sad state of disrepair.

Anyone got pics of her then?????
When it was up here, she was the "Pacific Princess". The group of guys that owned warbirds and the owner, they had a group called the "Yankee Raiders" Dad still has his patch on his flight suit.

The collection began to come together at Hobby. I never saw her in disrepair. SD was the first of the collection to arrive and was the only flyer they had for a while.

I was at Hobby when Glenn MacDonald and crew brought Thunderbird in after flying her across the Atlantic.

There is a Pacific Princess on the west coast. They look an awful lot alike, are you sure Special Delivery was once Pacific Princess ?

I think it was about 1987-88 that I first saw Special Delivery when Lone Star started making the rounds of the Texas airshows. Somewhere I have pictures of the hangar that the collection was stored in at Hobby. Think that was about the time of Wings Over Houston in 1989 or 1990.

In that first shot that is the CAF P40N. Think it was 1988 or 89 that there were 16 Mustangs on the ramp along with 4 Skyraiders... and SO MUCH MORE!

I didnt see this variety of aircraft types at an all Warbird show again until I made a Chino show.

Positive on the name. Somewhere dad has pics, I will see if he can find them and I will scan.
I think they applied the name about a yr before he sold it. She also used to have yellow rudders and ailerons.

I remember the day the left main would not come down all the way and he ended up landing with it up. Dad was the airport manager at the time so I got to go out to the runway and watch them do the recovery. Inflation bags are a neat thing to a kid! I remember, very minimal damage.

Based on displays at the museum and some of the veteran volunteers I am pretty sure she came directly to the musuems found from the resoration. I could be wrong but that is what I was alwasy told. There is also a display at the museum that shows some pics of here during the restoration.

I have never heard aything about her sitting around at Hobby being neglected. As far as I know she has always been well cared for.

1988, the best ever Breckenridge....Mickey Rupp nosed over, Kermit's Mossi, Mustangs, Mustangs, Mustangs.

Well I was there a couple of yrs ago for avionics training at Flt Safety. We got out of class early and we headed to LSFM. When we were walking around, I had seen the B-25. Instantly I got that feeling that I knew the airplane. I looked and looked at it, it was in the 2nd hangar and about to go a engine change. It was way up front the 2nd hangar and roped off. I really needed to look at the nose of it to make sure cause Deans old B-25 had a odd feature that not many would have. This one already had the small window behind the pilots window. This being the window that dad took some pics from when he participated in the "30 seconds over Washington" for the Anniversary of the Doolittle raid.

I found a mech (who was removing an engine off the Privateer for the B-25) I asked him if he knew the history of the B-25 and if he knew where it came from. He told me that they bought it from a guy who had let it sit at hobby. He said that it needed quite a bit of work before it flew. But he still did not know my question. So i asked........does it have a taxi light in the nose where the .50 cal would be? He said Yes!...........right then and there I knew it was Dean's B-25.
A phone call later to dad and he confirmed it once again that yep it was his.

As far as a restoration...........she looks pretty close to the same condition as dean had it.................Not a hangar queen but a enjoyed and often flown and fun B-25!

GOD I miss this show....only went the last 4 years of its existence but had a helluva lot of fun there, met a lot of the airshow folks I still know today, and it was always a blast...a Memorial day road trip for us here in CO to Texas for some fun with warbirds, maybe a photo mission or two, and just a great time....missed the very last show (I heard they only had 8 or 9 warbirds there anyway) and it died after that....but it was fun when it was still going...
