a friend told me that the sparrowhawks that are languishing aboard the macon are still in that state because the navy couldn't get around an evironmental group to recover them. the moronic tree huggers are more concerned about the kelp beds surrounding the wreck because the fishies that are lucky enough to see the wreck like to get layed in the kelp beds!! i swear........ the ass backwards logic of this country never ceases to amaze me!!! the navy should have thrown it's weight a lot better in the matter of the recovery. they sure stood their ground with their practice bombing w/ the island off puerto rico!!

Tom, in the end the Navy screwed the Puerto Ricans pretty good over Vieques. Without Vieques there was no need for Roosevelt Roads. The protesters cost the Puerto Ricans millions of dollars and several thousand civilian jobs when the Navy closed it. And it all happened REAL fast too!
