Ya'll just keep fighting ... I haven't decided on a 'winner' yet.

So, both of you . . . show me what you got!

:lol:

In a high pitched voice:

"Yeah, bring it on homie - I'm gonna kill ya - dead, even!"

So, who's going to show us that Tyson sledgehammer?

I'm a newcomer to this "dust-up" so enlighten me as to where it started.

By the way...Has anyone else noticed that Col. Righetti seems to be all of 25?

Mudge the geezer

(But then again, EVERYBODY is looking young anymore :( ).

In the first picture, are those "kill" symbols at the top line of the nose? If so, never seen that version before. Any details sincerely appreciated.

Yes, the coolest ever seen on a P-51. I don't have a close up of them. Maybe Martin does.

Jack - roger that....

here three teasers - more will follow in a separate thread hopefully tomorrow.

first two 355th FG 354th FS - both a/c unidentified - taken immediately post VE-Day - one showing the squadrons's WR codes with red borders, the other a P-47 hack for transition to P-47's for possible assignment to the PTO - note the Malcolm hood rarely seen on razorback P-47's;

last one is a 364th FG 385th FS razorback P-47D also used for transition to this type post VD-Day...

Martin - dad had red borders on Jane VI and Jane VII but I don't recognize the guy on the wing, I will dig around and see what I can find. Are you sure of the dates (ie. Post VE Day)?

Elder's OS [R] had a malcolm hood - woner if they transferred the Jug to the 354FS? Makes one wonder why two WW Jugs would be at the 355th post war... they were pretty well tapped for 9th TAC and the decision was to convert all 47 Groups to 51's (I think) around July 1945... with implementation scheduled for 46

Regards,

Bill
