NZ Corsair Crash on Guadalcanal

Caption on the back said "nice approach but the landing itself sure sucked!

Fascinating pics as always, but PLEASE, PLEASE take a moment to think out the thread title before posting.

The ex-OFMC FG-1D from Duxford is now resident in New Zealand - I naturally assumed the worst before opening the thread.

It looks like the cable tension might have been set a tad too tight for a Corsair weight, or the approach speed a little brisk! Hey, today that would be a basis for a project. As Mark always says, "it'll buff out". Good photos! Maybe this was before they made Corsair mostly land based.

I guess you could push on the fuselage till it's straight and call it good.
The RNZAF was always land lased. By the looks of this maybe a good thing?
