This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Just browsed the article at Books-A-Hundred tonight...still sounds like sour grapes to me, wrapped up in a bunch of fluff about uppity warbird owners and operators.

Ok, wixers out there, I need your help. Some of you have posted pics of N3N's on floats. We are looking for a flying airplane, dad really wants a ride in one on floats. Can anyone help?

Check out some of the Thunder of Michigan threads, I'm sure you can pick up the N# for the aircraft that was there with floats. I'm not sure if it flys with hem or not?

Yup.
Does it fly? Can you get a ride? Doubt it.

Now called Yanks. Hasn't flown that I am aware of. so a ride is very unlikely.
Al Stix, Jr. has one in his hangar. Not sure of its flying status though.

About the AC article: I thought it was a good article and
very favorable to Thunder. The internet has calmed down
in the past year or so. I quit posting for a while due to the
same type of comments by those "Malcontents". Several
other warbird people feel the same way and view but
don't post. In the last year this site has seemed to change
and the posters have started to listen and enjoy the posts.
I think the "majority" has become the "Minority" and WIX
has made a significant change. I think it's because of
informative posts by Gary, Chuck, and others, that
the "Big Mouths" have quieted. I'm less likely to post
when someone complains about a paint scheme, then
doesn't like the explanation and continues to make comments.
Each time WBD comes out, readers want to compare with AC.
Why not just post comments about WBD and let the rest lie. I think
Tim appreciates the "atta boys" and cringes on the rest. Like the
saying goes, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say
anything at all".

I've quietly watched this posting, and am aware of what happened on both sides of that fence. For those that agreed or disagreed on the statements in the AC magazine, the editor put his email address in the end of that column for responses, positive or negative.

Then he ends his argument by stating that if foreign organizations won't play ball, we should keep "American dollars south of the border" and "get more American aircraft to Thunder..."
Hmmmmm... Shows like Geneseo and Thunder certainly don't seem to mind Canadians going well out of their way to spend money south of the border.
I am trying to get my hands on a copy of the "other" magazine, before I make any comments.

Roger that, here in North Texas, we don't have hills, tree's (where I'm at) or snow, just dirt and wind.....
