F-21

The F-21 designation was given to some Israeli Kfir jets that were briefly used for dissimilar combat training "out west".

Cheers!

Great photos ! Yes I forgot about the KFIRS, there were also some Mig- 23's being used by the U.S. military before they bought the F-21's. I read about them once or twice in the 1980's and confirmed with two very accomplished retired Navy test pilots a few years back.

YF-110 was the USAF-operated MiG-21 designation, YF-113 was the designation given to the MiG-23.

Can't remember any other swing wing aircraft on the civil registry unless you count Mignet's Flying Flea!
The U.S. military operated a squadron of Mig-23's in the 1980's. I think they got them through the Egyptian govt. and they were seen out west in the Nevada area.Initially they were evaluated by the Navy and Air Force, and I heard they did a few mock sorties against some american counterparts. It had an F designation. Lets see, the F-20 was made by Northrop, it might have been the F-21, does any one know?

The F-21 is the designation for the Kfir's that were operated by the US Navy and Marine Corp.
I belive the MiGs were designated the F-113. I was told that by an F-15 buddy of mine, but when I asked him again about it later he said "Where'd you hear that?". He was grinning at me at the time, but would not elaborate any further.

That has been well reported by Aviation Leak and Spy Technology for years. If you look at the biographies of several retired Generals posted on the Air Force's website (af.mil), you'll see "YF-113G" among the aircraft they've flown.
