Probably no truth whatsoever, sorry. :(

Sadly, the source of those 'stories' has failed to come up with any evidence at all, for this or any other supposed discoveries / recoveries that he was claiming (Spitfires and Fiat G-55s in Syria, P-61s being imported to the US via Australia and the UK, Bearcats, Skyraiders and R-3350s from Vietnam, B-32 Dominator underwater).

Sadly, these must be filed under 'fantasy', at least until a single shred of evidence is forthcoming.

B-32 underwater was just a ruse. Everyone knows it's on the moon.

Probably busy sorting out the paperwork for the R-3350s that were 'on the water' from Vietnam in July 2005. Or getting the Lewis Gun for Shuttleworth's Sopwith Pup released, after it was 'stuck in UK customs' over a year ago. Or maybe sending the promised satellite shots of the Syrian Spitfire 24s to a well-known UK Spitfire historian. Or looking for the photos of the P-61s that passed through Melbourne docks.

Funnily enough, none of these things ever arrived. :?

Mike, John can be found pedalling the same old rumours, speculation and plain old BS over here: http://www.warbirdz.net/phpBB2/index.php
