Warbird Information Exchange

Yeah, the Airliner's images aren't working for me either. I assume
some may be found on this VFLW Museum search I did last spring when
we discussed this subject.

A coupla years ago, Indiana Tony ID'd the Corsairs as those of Thomas Hudner(MOH), and Jesse Brown, whom Hudner tried to rescue...

Has it been confirmed through BuNo.s that these are in fact Ltjg Hudner's and ESN Brown's Corsairs?

They certainly don't appear to have been torched by Napalm.

Issue 48 of CW has a couple of pages, but we were not able to get specific info on the aircraft themselves, as the information boards are of the 'propaganda' type. The Yak-9 is stated to have shot down a B-29 and P-80, it's pilot is a worker at the museum.

It's really a shame that things are heating up with N.Korea instead of getting better. It would be nice for a international business traveller or what have you to be able to go to these obscure museums and bring back answers.

I thought I read that Brown's Corsair broke up behind the leading edge, causing the instrument panel to pin his legs. Neither of these Corsairs appear to have suffered much damage around the cockpit area.

Also, I can make out "20" in front of the national insignia on one of the aircraft. I do not see any id on the other.

Neither of these aircraft appear to have these schemes, but then again, Brown and Hudner may not have been piloting these aircraft when they went down.

Any thoughts?
