Want to sail on the USS Intrepid?

All it takes is $100,000 and you have to be in New York by a week from Monday.

You won't see me on board, but I will be snapping pictures from my 39th floor window in midtown. There is supposedly a "Navy flyover" scheduled, but I haven't heard whether there will be anything vintage. Sure hope so!

If you miss this trip, she'll be making the return cruise in November 2008, if the refurbishing goes to plan.

I could be rooming with Satan, Osama Bin Ladin, and Gilbert Godfried and I'd still pony up the cash if I had the disposable income.

$100,000!!!!??

Wouldn't it be sensible enough to have a lower price so that more people could enjoy a one in a life time opertunity to ride on a U.S. Carrier?

Just my thought...

cheers,
Nate

That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. You could pay me enought to go on a cruise on a freaking carrier again. Not even if Robbie Kneviel jumped his bike off into the water! I've already done a couple of those 6-8 month voyages with the over flights of jets so big woop! I doubt if you could get me out on a canoe. If I had an extra $100,000 I'd buy a Stearman. Rant over.

Joy, Non-Skid  That stuff bits like crazy!

$100,000 to ride on a non-operational carrier, someone is smoking crack! No Flight-ops takes all the fun away. Let me guess they can have flight deck fire fighting drills and GQ Drills, Oh the fun!

You guys obviously are not from New York. I believe the logic here is to give big-money benefactors a chance to reach deep into their pockets, as folks sometimes do here in the big city, and come out with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (if you conveniently forget that the same opportunity will be offered again in 2 years) to hobnob with original WWII crew members and assorted political celebrities. The prize loses part of its value if it is any less exclusive. However, I am sure that the price tag will drop once word gets out that Friedman will not be on board to try to wrestle Mrs. Clinton over the side. (For the record, I had money on Hillary in that bout.)

I'm sure that some of them would be more embarrassed to have the current President on board. Vets are not all of one political stripe!
