It may not be quite the ugliest but the Budd Conestoga definitely deserves a mention here.

The French would have won hands down, but I can't be the only one that doesn't want to see pictures of even more 1930s French aircraft. :)

Keep in mind how how many good designs the US had. We may have more in this tally, but of course not all of the "ugly designs" of the other countries have been explored. :D

Its actually an Ilyushin il-2.

Speaking of which heres some late Russian entries.

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0788490/L/ - surely this is THE ugliest. I want it to stick in my front yard(US)/garden(UK) to scare children and nuns.

Well wait, the first shot isn't actually an aircraft but a ground effect device. Granted, it's ugly as sin but is it an airplane? ;)

The question is, if you parked one of these aircraft at Oshkosh, would you get a bigger crowd around it than the crowd around "another" silver P-51?
Didn't the Amjet Fairy Gannet (no oil painting I admit) cause a huge crowds one year? Granted they were all saying "WHAT THE...........!"
Any way as my mother used to say to me "you're not ugly you're SPECIAL"

Rgds Cking

P.S. The result is typical! Just as we Brits think we have one over on you Yanks you pull the X-32 out of the bag! A plane so ugly that when it was born the Doctors slapped it's mother!
