This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Nice pics...I'm surprised the secret service didn't bum-rush and hog-tie you when they saw you taking pictures of A.F.1.

Figured I might share some of my own shots--Operations has to provide escorts whenever VIPs come in, so I get some neat photos. I've got more but these are probably my best.
This is how close I got. How many ways can you say 'rotor wash'?
I snapped this quick shot of my rear-view mirror while leading the VP's motorcade a few weeks ago.
And a nice shot of the sun setting over Air Force 2

It should say, "Lame Duck Airlines"

I wonder......
What does the cumulative listing of aircraft that have held the designation "Air Force One" look like? It sounds easy at first, but remember that the choppers are designated "Marine One." The 747 and 707 are easy, but what else is on that list?

The list as I see it.
C-54 "Sacred Cow"
C-118 "Independence"
C-121 Columbine II, III
707 tail number 26000, 27000
747 tail number 28000, 29000
They were not called Air Force One until the 1950's when there was a mix up in call signs with an airliner.
