Both of those planes should be on the thread about aircraft that should be duplicated. Not that anyone could afford it, but how cool would that be to see at an airshow?!?

Excellent picture. One can only imagine where Aviation would be now if development of the YB-49 had continued and it had become operational back then instead of waiting 40+ years for the development of the B-2.

Jack, like most others I was pretty impressed with that photo that appears to be 2 vintage bombers. Then being a skeptic( grew up in the age of LBJ and Nixon) I took a closer look. I think the one on the left is actually a current plane. It is the flagship of current trend setting discount national airline of Karastan; Borat Airways. By removing the fuselage they dramaticaly reduce maintenance costs. Soft decadent American passengers would complain a being strapped on the outside top of the wing, but living without indoor plumbing or heat makes them a tought bunch over there. It's been done before: Flight Of The Phoenix, and is said to be a great favorite of DB Cooper.

Look at the air around the nose of the B-47...photoshop written all over it. I was all over the Northrop Library and Jack Northrops notes, and have never seen a picture like that one.

I agree with DZ definitely a photoshop or a composite done a long time ago. I too have a large Wing library and received some pics directly from Dr. Ira Chart, Historian Emeritus for Northrop, and they contained nothing like this one.

Sorry guys but you're wrong.
Scanned from the original photo at the Nat. Archives.
#1 I don't have that much free time.
#2 I couldn't use photoshop to save my life!!
