I believe it is in progress of being painted as it has been at hte paint shop for several weeks now. The person doing the work is well known for his quality and attention to detail so the musuem is not rushing him in order to get a truly top notch paint job.

Hey guys! Thanks for the comments on the pictures, glad some of you liked them! It was a blast. I'd like to make it back for the April show - if Lone Star will have me again! What a fun thing to be involved in though - wish we had something like that up in these parts. It'd sure be incentive for a girl to stay in this area - instead it lures me to Texas! :)

Just saw an episode of Wings to Adventure with the LSFM and a special on Tarheel Hal. Great episode!

Anyone know what color scheme that TBM (I think) is that has the yellow wings? I had not seen that one before.

Someone called it a trainer scheme. I always thought it was a postwar drone controller scheme.

I believe it was used to haul supplies and stuff from ship to ship...and also as a target tug.

First generation COD, except for the polished canopy frames, polished firewall and chromed adell clamps in the engine compartment..all done at the request of Mr Waltrip when the aircraft was restored.

You do have something like that in your area. Head on up to the Olympic Flight Museum in Olympia, WA. I hung out there for several years and had the time of my life until the Air Force made me move out to SC.
