That airplane is in our hangar along with the other toys. We had never seen that photo and paint scheme before.

Neat to come along something like that every once in a while.

Also and L-5G and a Stearman. The Stearman has a finish like 80 grit sandpaper!

Here in Nashville, Tn., there was a guy named Graham Kilsby with the Bristol Heritage Collection. He had hulks of a Fairey Swordfish, Westland Lysander, and a Bristol Beaufort(fuselage only) and was supposed to be getting a Blenheim. The Lysander and swordfish appeared to be ex Canadien, and the Beaufort seemed to be New Zealand or Australian markings.
Anyway, some of us in the area surmised that they came from Tallichet, and in true Tallichet fashion they had everything that could possibly be removed with a screwdriver, was taken off and not with the aircraft. Just like every P-39 hulk of Tallichet's I've ever seen.
The guess at the time was the hulks were "seed money" for possible museum startups and money drives. (?)

Tom,
Have never heard Tallichet got his play money from his wife's family! Never heard of anyone getting warbird collector sized "play money" from their wife! How do I get in on that deal?
Seriously, he was an excellent restarateur, and I went to at least four of them in their heyday. He had the one in Orlando/Herndon Field with a Fokker Triplane outside, The one in Dallas, with the P-47, the one here in Nashville with a C-47 and another in Memphis.
I think he had maybe 15 restaurants, that held 250 or so seats, and the food was excellent and expensive and the place was always packed. He made plenty of money, to speculate on warbird stuff back then.
If anyone has a wife that gives you play money to buy fighters, bombers, avgas, and mistresses please let me know! :D 8)
