Friend of mine took this shot a couple years ago. I am the one in the far right of the picture (white shirt, dark shorts) ducking! The picture I was taking at the time was terrible... I missed he was going so fast.

The Corsair was repainted about 5/6 years ago by Vought....Mike Schneider and I and some folks at
www.f4ucorsair.com had a small hand in the picking of the scheme, as Mo Chance was a VMF 312 member and the site is the official site of VMF 312...
Ray Kinney likes to tell the rather humorous story of how they also painted the cockpit in (I believe) light gray....unfortunately when they went to move certain controls the paint had stuck the controls to the next closest surface, effectively freezing them until the controls were broken free (throttles, etc) and some of the paint had to be redone, as chunks of it broke off with the control that was moved...

And the Sponsor Names
"Should " have been left on.
This is part of the History to this Corsair and those people
Before, "you new 4 sponsors", spent
alot of time and money over the past 30 years.
A Big Thank You should go to Vought Aircraft and The Vought Re-Tirees

Nothing ruins multi-thousand dollar paint job than
a bunch of names stuck all over it. It reminds me of people who buy a new car and plaster the rear end with a bunch of bumper stickers. Yuke!!
A nice sign board or a flyer listing doners suffices.
Can you imagine Carolyn Garace taging her Spit with the names of all members of her "Grace Spitfire Supporters Club"? I think not!

corsairboss,
Any chance you might post the rest of the pics? OR maybe zip them up and email them to those that are interested?

Many great photos here. Thanks for sharing. Just wondering, since the CAF obviously have owned this a/c for many years, did it ever wear the old CAF "house colors" of white with red/blue trim?
