I updated the Colorado portion of the Locator at...
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.html#USA_CO

A number of entries were added, most in the Denver area.

I do have a few questions which I hope people here can answer...

I haven't added an entry for a group that has an airshow act and goes by the name "The 69th Battalion". Does anyone know if this organization still exists?

Does anyone know where the "Western Slope Vietnam War Memorial Park" is located in Fruita?

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Fruita is a really small town in western Colorado, just as I-70 comes into the valley from the east, almost a suburb of Grand Junction. They have good fruit farms there and some vinyards, it is lower, less than 5000' and therefore warmer than the mountains. I think 69th Battlion is a group of pyros who like to play with fire at airshows. I don't know if they are active since we don't have many shows in Co. anymore. But the skiing is good so far.

Don't know about the B-17 fuselage on display in a restaurant in DENVER, but there is one on display at a place called the State Armory here in Greeley, supposedly used in the 12 o clock high TV series back in the 60's(?)...and the 69th battalion were a pyrotechnic group, kinda faded with the years, they used to have a Skyraider they worked with which has since gone south to the Lone Star Museum in Texas....

Thanks to everyone that has chipped in. The Colorado Locator...
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.html#USA_CO
...is now in very good shape. If there are any museums, gate guards or planes in parks missing from the list please let me know.

Just two more questions...

#1: Is there a P-51 displayed around the Arapahoe County Airport / Centennial Airport? I couldn't imagine an actual P-51 would still be on display outside these days, but it can't hurt to ask.

#2: There is a H-6 and a H-13 displayed at Butts Army Air Field in Colorado Springs. Where exactly are they? Are they accessible to the public?

Thanks again, and I hope MX304 finds this useful.

Mike,

Also at Buckley or along E 6th Ave to the NE of the base is an A-7D and UH-34D. They are being displayed at a Navy or Marines facility there.

are you sure about that Chris?

You cannot see these from the E470 anymore - I THINK they were transfered to the Wings Over the Rockies Museum?

(I may be completely wrong of course!)

the P51 is probably the one that is based there - not on display ASAIK.

the only relic I know of at Centennial is the fuselage of an EMB110

Am I sure? no, not now!

A-7D 39°43'2.44"N 104°44'40.33"W
UH-34D 39°42'57.40"N 104°44'33.94"W

Could you ever see these from the E470?

Thank-you for that! I have added them to the locator as Buckley Site B, but noted they may have been moved. Can anyone confirm?

Are the airframes at Buckley Site A accessible to the public, or is this another case where you need to make arrangements ahead of time?

Check that!

I have uploaded the updates.

interesting - it looks like some of the aircraft have been moved - they were on the SE side of the airfield and clearly visible from the E470 a couple of years ago for sure.

I think there used to be 2 x A7's - that means one was moved to WOTR and the other moved to the new location on the airfield by the parking lot.

cool - Im going to have to try to pay a visit....
