Wade, your Painting is looking really nice, looks like a good Corsair...some other prints the Corsairs just do not look good...the shape, or the front. Good Job.!!!

Thanks fellas. The little Corsair in my post above has a wingspan of only about 4 inches. At that size, I'm always amazed at how sometimes a single brushstroke can change the look of the entire plane. Without a microscope, notice the lack of details overall - only "shapes".

This is mainly a "pre-viz" comp, or in plain language, a "practice" canvas where I'm testing and validating values (darks against lights) and colors. Rarely for me, this little panel comes pretty darn close to that ever-elusive 'perfect image' I had in my head from the beginning. The trick now is to translate this small painting into a larger and better final 24 x 32 canvas.

Sorry for the boring details, but my emails indicate that a good number of warbird enthusiasts are art lovers as well! Must be something in the water . . . :D

A couple from my very first air to air 21 years ago. I was in Jack Hovey's Mustang (HMP) and the photo was taken by my brother who was riding in Bob Love's Mustang (Bernie's Bo).

An article written about the ride can be found at http://www.rwphotos.com/Aviation/Mustan ... ngride.htm

I know it's not your typical warbird, but it's the only one I have that I haven't saved from the web. This is a picture of one of the Imperial Iranian Air force (during the time that the Shah was in power) AH-1 Cobra's flying in front of the Shayad Monument. This photo was taken by my father back in the mid 70's when we lived in Iran during my youth. He worked for Bell Helicopter at the time and was the only western photographer in the country that had been given clearance to take air-to-air pictures by the Shah himself.

I crewed for Bob on Jack's racer 79-82 and we had a spray bar tank behind the pilots seat. We called it the "Jelly mould special" because Jack had put what looked like jelly mould tins in the gun ports. We cut our wedding cake in Bob's pit in 1980 and bought our SNJ 2 weeks later. Bob helped us restore the SNJ. I tried to get Bob to record his flying experiences, but he never did get around to it. A great guy and one hell of a pilot, his snap roll on takeoff in the P-51 made your heart stop.

This one I might not have taken, I have two that are nearly just alike but I'm not 100% sure. If it's somebody elses, then they were sitting in the Huey beside me. I pretty sure it was one of the Brits when they came out a couple of years back.

Elroy 13, B-25 Sunday Punch remains airworthy. I flew in it this past summer with both Steve and Lynn. It still resides at Santa Rosa. It is interesting to note that this particular airplane was never a Hughes, or Hayes conversion.

Most of the pics I have of Liberty Belle were from TOM '05.
