This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

A good friend of mine who is the Curator of the Bristol Military Museum in Bristol, CT is looking for a color image featuring a Connecticut Air National Guard, Republic F-47 Thunderbolt, taken between 1948 to 1950.
It could be a photo, slide or anything, as long as it's in color. He's working on a display and needs to know the colors. He only has B & W images and no reference to the various color markings. The aircraft were overall Natural Metal if that helps.
I realize that this is a pretty focused request, but I told him I'd at least try to find a photo.
Can anyone help me out there?
Thanks a bunch!
Blue skies,
Jerry

Jerry-
You might find what you need at the 103rd Fighter Wing at Bradley- when we were working on the 80th Anniversary Model Display we looked at hundreds of pictures they have in their archive. I'm sure if you call their PR office and inquire, they might help you. We did build a post-war F-47 and I think there were pics.
I'll email you some contacts....
Hope this helps
