The story as I know it. Apparently on Sunday at 6am, the tech monkeys at the hosting company were upgrading the MySql servers (the basic engine that drives this site) and managed to FUBAR it to the point where it to 29 HOURS to get it all back in working order. I am trying to have these tech monkeys shot but so far the legal department says that is too good of an idea. Hopefully this is the end of it and we will continue to be up and running for a good long time.

Sorry for any DT's you suffered when we were down

Or you could offer the services of said tech monkeys for interesting work in friendly mountainous asian scenery. Also known as "Operation Certain Death"!

as to breaking the record day..... only my opinion...... it should happen on it's own. if the site was up yesterday and 252 or 351 members were on at the same time it wouldn't mean squat because it was planned & contrived. it should also be remembered that the record day exists partly because of the countless lurkers & guests that cruise the site too. i don't know if we could have possibly coordinated 252 bonifide members on the keyboards at 1 specific time of the day anyway. a new record will occur, & it will happen with meaning, just like last year's.

Which way did them monkeys go, which way did they go?

For obvious reasons here on the far left coast I had to darken the picture and block our faces out.

I've seen that group before Roger.
Back when I was living in the Florida sticks. Most were related and a few even played the banjo!

Speaking of office efficency, I notice there seem to be a lot of postings during the work day especially Monday morning. The GNP probably went down 1% when WIX started.

Shooting is too good for IT folk who screw up, over here in the UK we tend to stone them to death! It usually takes place during a coffee break so we don't have to rush it.
