What is one of the Flugwerk kits running these days? On their old site they listed the base price as about 500k euro.

Any idea what they cost in real money? :)

Hi Jun, You should look for La-9's, L-11's or Tu-2's. They all took Ash-82's. Get one of those types restored and flying and I'm sure you would find a market in the west. Regards, Rob

13x A-8/n and 3 x D-9/N have been built by Flugwerk, no further examples will be produced as the jigs have been dismantled.

They are to concentrate on new P-51 production now.

New P-51 production...wow!? Would seem replicating the Merlin engine would be the most difficult part of that project.

Are you certain about the jigs? The D-9/N production run was announced as FlugWerk's newest project and they are in the prototype phase. (Unless the troubles with ACE, their Allison engine supplier, factor into this somehow.) I was under the impression that they had two D-9 airframes, both conversions from the A-8/N production run. I'm speculating here, but I also thought that one of their D-9 conversions was sold and is being used for the D-9 project that was recently said to be with the Vormezeele Collection?

Yes, this info is direct from Claus Colling ( see Classic Wings Issue 57). As I said previously, 3 x D-9/Ns have been built, and yes one went to Vormezeele

Hi Jun, welcome to the board!

Have you considered a 2/3rd scale replica? I know I'll probably get flamed for suggesting this but...

Also are civilians allowed to fly in China? are there any other warbirds being flown by civilians? piston or jet powered?

Yes, I have been to Beijing and Shanghai. I will probably go back again to China in February or March for vacation. My wife is from Shanghai.

I found the military airbase near Tangshan by using a Google Satellite map. It looks to be west of the center of Tangshan.
