This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I was wondering the same thing...how many P-51K's (or P-51's period) are still wearing Aeroproducts props?

We put an AeroProducts prop on Lewis Shaw's P-51 when we built it at Nelson's place back in the late 90's. As far as I know, he's still running it.

I think there is still an AeroProducts on this one too:

Both aircraft appear to be sporting "Aerproducts" props, however the first looks to be an H propeller, like many early Reno racers had. The Mustang in the Neatherlands appears to be sporting a proper "k" type. Judging from the photo of the Thompson racer, it would appear that the later H spinner is similar if not identical to the K type. IIRC,the Aeroproducts prop of the P-51K sits about 1-3/4" farther forward on the 50 spline shaft than standard P-51D units. The K prop also has a 30 lb. ballast ring to keep the CG within limits. Does anyone know if ballast is required with the H prop???
