Here are some pics of the Corsair that is at Fantasy of Flight (BuNo. 88086). I don't know if you can extract them from the post or not, so if you want, I can send them to you.

Always enjoy seeing pictures of "Ole Blue" (I know that not whats painted on it, but that's what the late Merle Gustafason called her). I used to Crew Chief some on that one back when she was an air show star. That was long ago & far away. Thanks. :D

Great pics, but they are of two different a/c.

The F4U-4, http://www.warbirdregistry.org/corsairr ... 97286.html

The F4U-4 was damaged by hurricane Andrew and still is damaged ( Oct. 06) with some holes in it. Purely static for now.

The FG-1D, http://www.warbirdregistry.org/corsairr ... 88086.html

The Registry say's this FG-1D was rebuilt, had a first fllight in 1990 and was damaged in 1992 by hurricane Andrew. I don't remember this a/c as ever flying with Kermit Weeks. Does anyone have any pics?

I believe it has been shipped somewhere for restoration, Australia or N.Z. possibly???

Regards,
Mike

First one is an F4U-4, the other is an FG-1D. Looks like two different planes to me?

My mistake then, when I was down there, someone told me that the one on display was an FG-1D, and since he had one of each, I assumed it was that one. :?

Does anyone have more pics of the FG-1D as the Vought Corp. plane? Any color pics?

Regards,
Mike
