Hey guys, I am lloking for a wooden prop to hang on a gameroom wall. I would love one that came off of a real aircraft, but is not usable. I am looking for one that is not to huge. Any thoguths on how I might be able to get one at a reasonable price. So far all of the ones I found were expensive, but they were also still usable for an aircraft.

I have been looking for one also, one of my old partners has a great one with a tapered hub.
I told him once if he ever came home and it was missing, he could start looking for it at my house.

Yeah, I have a reproduction on my wall right now, and I want one that has been on a real live airplane. I don't even care what type of plane. My buddy didn't know I wanted one a while back , and gave away a Sensinich wooden prop. I almost cried.

I’ve got a set of McCauley 135-6 blades that didn’t pass inspection. I’d like to get rid of them, but have no idea what their collector’s value may be. They came off a Stearman.

What looks like dust is actually Boeshield T-9 corrosion preventative.

I have over 40 wooden props ranging from WW1- present.
Wood props are very popular which is why the prices are high.
Mine start from 500.00 cn - 5,000.00 depending on whether you want serviceable or display only.
I also have 300 wrecked a/c 12 basket cases and 400,000 parts

Sorry Guys I don't have a website....I know ...I know we 've been in business since 1953, so we are pretty well known and have never really needed one to drum up business.
I mostly field requests from phone calls or email.
It helps to be specific have a p/n if possible.
We have no recorded inventory, we just know what we have.
It's old school but it works
It's simple give me a request and you will get a very quick answer.

I got a 7' at an antique market. I have no idea what it is off of. Hmm, I bet someone here does though. I'll get a pic. I paid $300 in 2001 but I haven't seen any that big for under a grand in a long time.

Fahlin Prop Co. was started by Ole Fahlin.
Up until a couple of years ago, they still existed but were bought out.
Th company is now called Falcon Props.
My 1940 Fleet Finch has one installed on it and it works well.
Are there any stampings on the prop?
From firts glance I would say Farchild PT-23 or PT-19
Usually the engine name is stamped on themIf it says Warner or Ranger it is most likely from one of those two a/c.

Where should I look for stampings? If it's on the back side, I guess I'll just have to wonder until I move someday. I don't remeber seeing any, but who knows.

Ole Falin was a friend of my fathers, in the San Jose California area in the 60's/70's. He gave my folks a metal prop clock one year for Christmas. On another occasion, he came to dinner and I was able to show him my latest model., a Goldberg 1/2A Skylane for escapment single channel RC. Later, after graduating HS, I asked Ole to teach me prop carving. He simply said "No" (that was his way- I wish I had persisted!).

IIRC, his old shop is still working on props at the museum in San Martin CA.
